If we haven’t said it already, Welcome to 2023. For those of you looking to renovate your home or
prepare it to go on the market, you might be interested in some of the latest interior design trends.
This week’s Raleigh Cary Realty blog has you covered.
- Bold and deeper colors:
Many neutral tones have been popular for the last three years. However, designers believe that starting
this year, bolder colors will make a comeback. If you’re considering painting a room, do not be afraid to
avoid colors like light grey. Instead look at a dark green, deep red, or rich blue instead. - Curves:
Newer furniture designs will feature more curved shapes and fewer straight lines in their features. Also,
when renovating an interior, designers will opt more for arched doorways and round frames. - Recycled materials:
Whether it’s reclaimed wood or stone, using recycled materials for furniture, cabinets, and counter-tops
will be a big trend in 2023 as designers choose to make more sustainable choices as new materials are
harder and more expensive to find. - Spruced-up laundry rooms:
If your laundry room has space for more than just the washer and dryer, consider ways to decorate and
improve its functionality—including adding cabinets above the appliances. - Less open floor plans:
Yep, that’s right. As people continue working from home, trends will develop to add boundaries in
spaces to separate rooms from living to work. Oh, and the kitchen that inevitably collects dirty dishes
will be better hidden when you separate it from the living room.
There are others to expect as the year goes along. For more trends or to get ideas on how to prep your
