North Carolina has entered into phase 2 of the reopening plan just in time for the summer. This has allowed some businesses to open if they follow health guidelines and reduce their occupancy. People are visiting parks and trails in the Raleigh and Cary areas of North Carolina. Raleigh Cary Realty has compiled a list of these wide-open places to visit this summer.
4 places to visit in the Raleigh-Cary Area this Summer:
- Pullen Park: Walk your dog around the lake and on the paved walkways of Pullen Park. Located in Raleigh, there are many more attractions that will open up in the different phases this summer. With its picturesque bridge over the water, many can enjoy taking pictures of nature, social distancing with friends, and spending time with their family.
- William B. Umstead State Park: Another park in Raleigh, this one has miles of trails. There are three lakes within the park: Big Lake, Sycamore Lake, and Ready Creek Lake along with a few creeks that provide the water features of this park. These areas are not for swimming, but provide nature sounds and landscapes for those walking, hiking, or running on the trails.
- Eno River State Park: Located in Durham, this park has forests, streams, and historic structures. With miles of trails, people can enjoy easy to moderate hikes within the park. The signs can help people stay on track.
- American Tobacco Trail: This is a long trail that expands over many counties. There are access points along the trail that are in Cary, Durham, and Raleigh. It is a great trail to bike, walk, jog, or even ride on horseback. With its wide trails, many can keep their social distancing while getting their exercise.
With these parks and trails, keeping socially distant is easier, but also provides an escape from the home. Park operation times may be subject to change.
