It’s not surprising to say that these are unprecedented times. We love to do monthly updates on what is going on in the Town of Cary, but many events in Cary are canceled or postponed right now. However, Cary is still a town full of life and things are still going on.
4 cool things going on in Cary even with the coronavirus are:
- Outdoor Spaces: A couple of years ago, downtown Cary did a variety of projects to upgrade our outdoor spaces. While we need to social distance, going out for exercise and enjoying the beautiful areas in downtown Cary, is a great way to appreciate the gorgeous spring flowers and warmer weather.
- Bear Hunt: So many kids are now home and parents are looking for things to do. A group of homeowners across the Triangle has put stuffed teddy bears in the windows to allow kids and parents to get out and go on a “bear hunt!”
- Shop Local: Many of the amazing businesses in Cary are still operating, but they are doing curbside pickup or front porch delivery. Both options maintain social distancing and allow Cary residents to enjoy the businesses in our community while supporting local businesses!
- Eat Local: Restaurants are considered an essential business and with the tasty options for food in Cary, we all agree! While restaurants had to close their dining rooms, many have moved to delivery and curbside pickup. Some restaurants, like Postmasters, are even rebranding right now to offer boxed meals.
While these are scary times and many of us feel isolated and alone, there are still many great things going on in Cary. We are a resilient community and we will remain strong through these times.
