Making you feel right at home.

I’ve been around the proverbial block a time or two and I’m here to tell ya, that’s a good thing. I’m an
extraordinary mix of heart, determination and experience and I believe that’s exactly what it takes to
make it in Real Estate!

The Journey
Originally from Johnstown, Pennsylvania, I’ve lived here in the Triangle Area in North Carolina since
1980. Around here, that just about makes me a native! In my spare time, I love to read, paint, travel,
and spend quality time with friends and family.
How did I arrive in Real Estate? Well, my first home was built by a relatively new builder. He declared
bankruptcy before the house was done and I was left to manage the completion myself. I worked with
subcontractors, managed the timelines, and in the end it was a great learning experience. I was inspired
to go for my Real Estate license (called a Salesman’s License at the time) and I did just that in 1979,
moving on to obtain my North Carolina Broker’s license in 1982. Life has a lot of twists and turns,
taking me in and out of Real Estate a few times, but I’m thrilled to be doing what I love: Real Estate!

My Gifts
Inspiration is one thing, but it is another thing to have what it takes to succeed in Real Estate. The
secrets to my success:
**Heart. I helped a wonderful young couple buy a home in 2008 and in 2011 they had a baby boy,
creating a need for more space. We looked at homes for over a year and eventually went under
contract on what seemed to be the perfect fit. Unfortunately, there were appraisal issues that
couldn’t be overcome so we had to find another home…quickly because I’d already sold their
current home. We made an offer on a house, but soon learned that the sellers couldn’t close for
over a month. My folks had nowhere to go so I followed my heart and I moved them in with me.
There were challenges and, yes we did some extra celebrating when they closed on the new
house and were able to move out, but I couldn’t possibly be any happier with the outcome. I
don’t just work for my clients…when necessary, I practically adopt them!
** Determination. Whether it takes a month, a year or a decade, I work with each client until they
are completely satisfied that they have made the right decision. I measure my own
performance with extraordinarily high standards because I want the absolute best for all my
clients and I won’t stop until I’ve achieved it. Together, we will succeed.
** Experience: There’s really no substitute for living life, learning from mistakes, and first-hand
familiarity with all that Real Estate encompasses. I’m wise enough to know I haven’t seen it all,
but I sure have seen a lot and there are patterns everywhere. What’s the seller thinking, what
happens if the inspections go poorly, what is the market doing, or how do we negotiate without
insulting or losing entirely? I have to be detail oriented with the small stuff, but then ever so
mindful of the big picture, too. It takes years and years of boots on the ground experience to
effectively navigate my clients through buying or selling. When I make it look easy, that’s just
the experience kicking in!

The Destination
These days, I’m in Real Estate full time because I love it. I truly enjoy sharing my knowledge and
experience with my clients and I get so excited with each successful closing. This is where I’m
supposed to be.
