Use my background and experience to help you….
Real Estate Professional – I obtained my original real estate license in upstate New York thirty-four years ago. At that time, I primarily assisted friends and relatives to find homes to purchase, as well as buying and selling my personal investment property. I have continued my REALTOR designation living in North Carolina.
Investment Properties – I started in real estate thirty-five years ago in upstate New York, buying and managing numerous multi-family rental properties. During 1984 I developed a computer program for analyzing the financial aspect of owning multi-family rental property, including all elements of rental income, expenses, appreciation, equity build-up, income tax implications, and future year forecasting. More recently, I have bought foreclosures and flipped houses in North Carolina and Florida.
Construction – My previous four homes were built for me by a contractor, so I am very experienced with the home building process. I personally designed my current home and I was the prime contractor during construction. Continuing to grow my building experience, I completely renovated my daughter’s house during 2008. By late 2010, I decided to apply my construction and real estate knowledge to buying, renovating, and selling foreclosed properties. More recently, I completed finishing the unfinished portion of the walk-out basement in my home.
Executive Project Manager – I achieved certification as a project manager during 2000. I have managed many projects involving more than one hundred people each, and lasting longer than one year. I am very skilled at organizing and executing complex projects, based on careful planning and anticipating problems.
IBM Career – I enjoyed a long career with IBM as an engineer, people manager and project manager. Years ago while living in upstate New York, I designed computers for military aircraft, such as F-111, F-15, B-1B, and the Space Shuttle. After moving to North Carolina, I managed many projects saving IBM millions of dollars. I spent my last years, prior to retirement, assisting clients who were experiencing difficulties with IBM computer systems.
Teaching – I gained a great deal of experience helping people by teaching many computer related courses at Broome Technical Community College in New York, the State University of New York at Binghamton and IBM.
Education – I earned a BS degree in Electrical Engineering and an MS degree in Computer Science from Union College in New York State. Later, I earned a Masters Certificate in Project Management from The George Washington University.
